Located on a coastal cliff in Northern California north of Jenner, the new home features state of the art technology and clever processes to allow for a fully off-grid luxury structure. The new structures are clad in stone quarried directly from the site, while the home’s finishes are primarily sourced locally. The plan, generated from a series of overlaid circles and intersecting cones, creates a dramatic interplay between the opacity of local stone and the transparency of curved glass. The orientation of the structure maximizes vistas to the Pacific and surrounding landscape as it stretches across the 1.5 acre site. Serpentine cold bent insulating glass units and custom fabricated solar arrays integrate the advanced technologies seamlessly into the architecture which fades into the background to celebrate the ocean views.
