JM|A+D has had the privilege of working with the City of South Bay to establish the criteria and feasibility to extend the life of the existing City Hall Building. The anticipated scope includes renovation to the Public Services area to address post COVID operations and increase the floor area by roughly 5,000 SF, renovation of the Council Chambers and other interior office spaces, and an addition to house additional meeting space and an employee break area.

Within the lobby, a living wall as the backdrop to a feature stair extending to the roof, reinforces the City’s commitments to sustainability. The wall is flanked by a large format digital display to showcase local artists. The bleacher seating at the lower level facilitates Council Chamber overflow during highly attended events for the public.
